2017 Best Photographers in San Diego Award Winner Expertise.com

I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas where I began my studies as a visual artist at the age of 5. My grandfather was an amateur photographer and avid lover of the visual arts. He had a study in his home with hundreds of books on classical painting, printmaking, sculpture and photography that I would I would spend hours reading whenever my parents dropped my brother and I off for an evening to be looked after. This early exposure to the the arts is what I attribute my development into an artist myself as I became a teenager.

I graduated from the Booker T. Washington School for the Performing and Visual Arts where I had focused on painting and sculpture and went on to study design at the Kansas City Art Institute and University of North Texas. During my freshman year at KCAI I was introduced to film photography for the first time and immediately fell in love spending hours in the darkroom.

I moved to San Diego in 2003 to work for Adidas Golf in business management while continuing to photograph as a hobby. In 2012 I decided to start taking my photography more seriously and really push myself to get to the point where I might be able to do it for a living. I made the leap of faith in 2016, quitting my job at adidas and starting work as a full time architectural photographer with an exclusive contract with PreviewFirst.com. It was a scary transition to make, but I feel so lucky to not only have been able to make the leap, but to have it be as exciting and fulfilling as it has been over the past few years.

Although my primary focus is shooting architectural photography, I also work in product, portrait, and landscape. I have added drone photography and video in 2018 to my repertoire and I am very exited to grow this part of my business. I had the honor of being recognized by expertise.com as one of the top real estate photographers in San Diego County last year.

I live in Leucadia, CA with my fiancé Andrea, our two cats Atacamo and Iversone, and our horse, Romeo.
